Foodie Kids- Rockridge Cafe on College Ave. in Rockridge, a suburb of Oakland, CA

My favorite child friendly dining place in Oakland is Rockridge Cafe on College Avenue in Oakland.  They are open for breakfast and lunch!  Then, stroll the streets for a fun day!

Favorite Orton-Gillingham Inspired Reading Program

Last year, during the pandemic, I did the SPIRE reading intervention program on zoom for elementary school students.  This program works!

Anthony Bourdain's flaws were also his superpowers

There is a new film about Anthony Bourdain that is coming out on July 14th called, "Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain."  Academy Award-winning documentarian Morgan Neville shows both sides of Bourdain in this film.

Bourdain was an author, chef, father, and world traveler.  I loved watching him on television, he was a natural!

Bourdain was neurodiverse, the hyper focus is common to ADD and the restlessness, the perfectionism, and the lack of patience for the way things are created both his greatest gifts and his worst flaws.

Gilroy Gardens Family theme park in Gilroy, CA is open! Happy 20th birthday!

Gilroy Gardens is open again!  They are having a 20th birthday party celebration until Labor Day weekend!  There is a birthday clubhouse with live shows daily!  There are special birthday cupcakes with pinwheels, bubbles, and sprinkles!  The birthday cupcakes are at the Sugar Plum cafe.  There are also memory spots to see their memories and post theirs, and make new memories!

Gilroy Gardens Family theme park has rides, gardens, circus trees, and a swim park.

Grandma Marilyn loves Gilroy Gardens as it is magical, especially at night!  It is one of our family traditions to go each and every year!  Last year it was so sad as it was closed last summer due to COVID. All memberships are lasting one extra year since they were closed last year.

There are special night time events, at Halloween at night (September 21-October 28) and Holiday at night (November 30-December 31.)

The Oasis water park is open.  Parents can stay close by in comfy beach chairs under swaying palm trees.
