Babock Wilderness Adventures - Punta Gorda, Florida

Babcock Wilderness Adventures is a great place to visit in West Florida. Located on the outskirts of Punta Gorda (north of Ft. Myers), the Babcock Ranch Preserve has roughly 90,000 acres.  It is a working ranch, raising cattle and growing a variety of crops (including sod for lawns).  A large part of the ranch consists of swampland, and the rickety fantastic old bus for the tour drives through the swamp where you can see lots of alligators, wild pigs, turkeys, cracker cattle, and a range of swamp-life.  The tour guides are great - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.  You can pet an alligator, pet a snake, feed a cow, and have a thoroughly enjoyable time.
