Pediatric Motor Playground in Lafayette, CA and Danville, CA for penmanship, cursive, etc.
Pediatric Motor Playground in Lafayette, CA (There are other locations too!) is an excellent place to take preschool and elementary school children to work on penmanship, cursive, etc. The children receive OT services in a casual, fun setting with games, etc. Many schools now do not even teach cursive so this is a great place to have your child learn cursive and love it!

Leonardo da Vinci exhibit, "Machines In Motion" at the Aerospace Museum of California
My son and I visited the Aerospace Museum of California last weekend to see the exhibit, "Leonardo da Vinci, Machines In Motion." The museum was so interesting, educational, and exciting for both of us that I ended up getting a year membership! They allow you to buy a day pass, then cash that in at the end of the day for a year membership. What sold me is the deal of being able to buy a family membership that allows you to bring 2 adults and 4 children! There are so many of our friends who already want to visit the museum with us after my son's glowing reviews!
See other posts about the Flight Zone learn to fly area and the upcoming aviation camp!
Currently, the Aerospace Museum of California is hosting the traveling exhibit, "Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion."

Staying at the Ritz Carlton in Truckee, CA from a child's point of view
We had an opportunity to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Truckee, CA this winter. It was a gift from a family member for my son's birthday.
These are the things he said on our trip:
"I liked marshmology, they even gave me a card, Marshmology Doctor shirt, a Marshmology S'more kit, and they decorated my room!"
"I took a private skii lesson, and once I took a lesson, I was super good at it, I went down super steep slopes."
"We ate in the Living Room at the hotel. It is HUGE! I had a cheese buffalo burger that was really big and yummy!"
"I love the huge fireplace in the living room of the hotel!"
"I went sledding after marshmology today with other kids!"
"I went ice skating last night. We took the tram to the village!"
"There was a band in the Living Room last night, I had pasta for dinner with red sauce."
"I love the Ritz Carlton in Truckee!"
"They have really good rooms and really nice skii slopes!"

A Goal
" Goal is created three times. First, as a mental picture. Second, when written down to add clarity and dimension. And third, when you take action towards its achievement."

Skiing- my son's metacognition process
My son and I went skiing today and he told me that he'd been pretending to skii in his head all year since the last time we skied in the spring of 2016. He had been dreaming doing the pizza, the duck walk, and french fries all year!
He did great! He remembered all of the things he learned last year!

metacognition quotes- football
My son and I were watching the Superbowl and and I thought about the importance of metacognition for the football players.
I found the quote,
"Football is a game played with arms, legs and shoulders but mostly from the neck up."
