I talked to a friend who currently teaches Kinder. this summer and she gave me a list of things children need to know before Kinder. She is an experienced teacher.
The Before K List:
1. Write name
2. Can your child take turns, wait?
3. Play simple games, and not always win
4. Know how to share
5. Be able to cut a little with scissors, and not cut themselves or others
6. Know that they can't always be child of the day
