We stayed a few nights at the Comfort Inn in Auburn, CA. This place is dog friendly, has a free breakfast, and costs under $100.00.
On Saturday night, on the way to Truckee, highway 80 closed when a Caltrans truck blocked the road. Everyone had to go back. The Comfort Inn was an Oasis for us to stay at! Our prayers were answered when we got a place to stay under $100.00, a free hot breakfast, and a dog friendly place to stay. The next day we weren't brave enough to head out to Truckee again, but took the short drive to Emigrant Gap.
