Foodie Bay Area Kids: D is for Dark Chocolate

We love chocolate!  In fact, we had a little too much chocolate around the holidays, but we try to find the best chocolate we can!  Here are some of our favorites!

(These baking chips are great for making chocolate chip cookies!  Also, there is a recipe on the package for peanut butter cups that are yummy too!)

Lily's Delicious Peanut Butter Cups

You will need:  1 bag of Lily's chocolate baking chips*, organic peanut butter (or other natural nut butter), and mini cupcake tins.
Step 1- Melt chocolate chips by placing chips in double boiler over gently simmering (not boiling) water.  Stir chips constantly until melted.
Step 2- Scoop a tablespoon of melted chocolate into mini cupcake tin
Step 3-Scoop a teaspoon of peanut butter on top of melted chocolate (Tip:  Put peanut butter in the freezer for 2 minutes before scooping which makes it easier to scoop the amount you want.)
Step 4- Scoop a final tablespoon of chocolate onto peanut butter.
Step 5- Repeat
Step 6- Place melted PB cups in the freezer to harden for approximately 30 minutes, makes approximately 10 peanut butter cups.

Enjoy!
*Adjust the recipe to make bigger or smaller peanut butter cups
**substitute Peanut Butter for any kind of natural nut butter that you desire.
