NCLB signed in January 2012, has it worked?
The No Child Left Behind Act was signed in January 2012 by George Bush. As a teacher, I remember when it was signed and how things began to change. Most people thought change needed to happen, yet most people don't realize we have thrown away some honest and powerful curriculum because now teachers need to prepare for testing, that has become the number one priority in most public schools. Ten years after NCLB was signed, I see that we are in worse shape then when we started out ten years ago. Most teachers do not do science experiments anymore, they do not have time. Music, art, science, etc. are not given enough time. We need change!
