Why is homeschooling becoming more popular?

I find it interesting why homeschooling is becoming more popular, especially at a time when both parents are many times working.  Since my son is four and I work part time, I spend time with him at parks and museums, and such.  There are more and more educated and enterprising parents taking their child's education into their own hands.  Some parents are frustrated about the high stakes testing, some parents are worried about the institutional nature of schools, some parents are angry that what used to be 1st grade is now K, and there are a host of other reasons.  I will be discussing the rise in homeschooling in future blogs.
